The Protestant Church Choir “ProCanTi” was established in 1997 and at present has

about 65 members of various ages. Most of them belong to a religious denomination (both Protestant and Roman Catholic). There are also a few members not belonging to any religious denomination. Our members are not only from Tiel, but also from the surrounding rural districts.

On average, we attend the services of the United Protestant Churches in Tiel ten times a

year. Besides, it is a pleasure for us to appear at nursing homes and at the hospital.

The indirect engagement at the International Festival of Choirs in Arnhem has also

contributed to our reputation.

Frequently, we are called upon to cooperate for special occasions, such as the National Remembrance Day and the celebration of the National Liberation Day.
We attempt to assist twice a year at a special service, which also can be organised by ourselves.

In 2004, a thirty members of ProCanTi participated in an occasional choir at the Christmas Broadcasting of the BBC's Songs of Praise.

Our musical accompanist is Mr. Wim Wijnen.

Rehearsals take place place every Tuesday at 8 p.m. alternately in the

churchbuilding in Dr. Schaepmanstraat and in the St. Maartenskerk (Saint Martin's Church) at the Kerkplein, Tiel
